"This weekend we raced at Bug Jam. At Summer Nationals, we found out that the bike was too fast for my age. So Dad and Grandad put some weight on the bike to slow it down. So, at Bug Jam, my 1st qualifier was slower than normal and I went 13.89 on a 13.00 dial in.
My 2nd qualifier was slower as I did a 15.10 on a 13.80 dial in. By the 3rd qualifier, it was obvious there was a problem with the bike as I did a 17.02 on a 14.90 dial in.
After my 3rd pass on Saturday night, Dad and Uncle Scott had a look at the bike. Uncle Scott polished the spark plug and they charged the battery.
However, in the 4th qualifier I still went slower and did a 21.03 on a 13.60 dial in. So before the 1st elimination, Dad and Uncle Scott took the bike apart and noticed damage to a spark plug and a coil. Sophie‘s dad very kindly gave us a spark plug so I want to say a big thank you to him.
Unfortunately, it didn’t solve the problem. My 1st elimination was against Rico. I dialled in 15.00 in hope the spark plug would help but the bike still wasn’t getting enough fuel to the engine and I ran a 18.74. Nico got to the line first without breaking out and won. Massive well done who Rico.
Overall, I had a great weekend, not thinking about any of the bad stuff that usually stresses me out.
My friend Astrid from last meeting came so I got to play with her, Thia and Alice. I also met someone called Darcy and we became friends in the first 30 seconds we met.
Thank you too: The Junior Drag bike club, Carl Cox motorsport, Santa pod raceway, Mum💗, Dad, Uncle Scott, Cam, Granddad, Auntie Jas, Uncle Colt, Nanny, Nanna, Lando, Sophie‘s dad (Keith Pollen), Alia, All the junior’s parents and all the juniors.
And a special thank you to Leah’s mum for letting me meet my new friend Darcy.
Well done to the Event winner, Leah (my idol) and to the runner up Harry. Another well done to Alia and all the juniors. We all smashed it as a normal."
